_James Driscoll was a lecturer (later a senior lecturer) in law at East London University between 1976 and 1982.  After this he was a principal lecturer, a Reader in Law and a Professor of Property law at London South Bank University between 1982 and 2002 and he is now Emeritus Professor of Property Law.

He has held Visiting Professorships at Law Schools in the USA and in Lesotho (Southern Africa).

James is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Essex
