_The provisions in the Localism Act 2011 include some significant changes to housing law, mainly to social landlords and their tenants.  (See my recent article in the New Law Journal). But there are changes that affect the private rented sector including amendments to the tenancy deposit scheme.

So far there have been two commencement dates and it is expected that all the housing law and landlord and tenant changes will be fully in force in April 2012. I will covering this in an article for the Estates Gazette.
